How we work
Jasmax is a leading architecture and design practice in the Asia-Pacific region. Our designs transform organisations and communities, delivering lasting benefits to cities and regions. We are trusted to deliver complex, future-focused projects that require specialist expertise and a deep understanding of technological and regulatory environments.
Success starts with the right team. We build collaborative, high-performing teams from day one, setting a strong foundation for every project. A value-led mindset, focused on generating impact where it matters most, is fundamental to the way we work. Our project leaders remain hands-on from project inception through to completion, providing continuity and trusted guidance to clients throughout the duration of their project.
Sustainability
We are designing for a low carbon future and are committed to achieving net zero emissions across all projects by 2030. To meet this goal, we have set ambitious carbon reduction targets and conduct early-stage lifecycle carbon assessments on every project. Cost-neutral carbon reduction is embedded within our design approach, and we are experts in adaptive reuse and retrofit strategies, enabling sustainable transformation of existing buildings.

Our track record includes some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s top-performing certified green buildings. In 2021, the University of Auckland’s B201 building achieved the highest ever 6 Green Star score from the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC). Our projects have earned recognition across a broad range of internationally verified sustainability tools, including 6 Green Star ratings in the Commercial and Education sectors, 5 Green Stars in the Health and Science sector, and certifications under Homestar, The Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel and NABERSNZ.

Indigenous Design
Our Manifesto is grounded in Indigenous values and acknowledges the deep ancestral connection between Indigenous peoples and the natural environment — an essential source of wellbeing and identity. We work alongside communities to explore cultural narratives through architecture and placemaking in meaningful and enduring ways.
Cultural engagement and co-design are integral to every project, honouring and amplifying Indigenous voices throughout the design process. Our Indigenous design collective — comprising Māori (Waka Māia), Pasifika (Moana Practitioners), and First Nations practitioners — works closely with Māori and First Nations communities and clients to create designs that span both contemporary and traditional expressions, reflective of the communities they serve.
For more information, please contact our Cultural Strategist, Anahera Rawiri, or Māori Design Leader, Elisapeta Heta. Anahera leads early-stage exploration of how Te Ao Māori principles can guide project direction, while Elisapeta leads cultural engagement throughout the design phase, ensuring respect and integrity are maintained throughout the process.
